EasyHotel arrives in Liverpool with £9.99 rooms

EasyHotel, the owner, developer and operator of “super budget” branded hotels, opened its new 78-room hotel at 47 Castle Street in Liverpool. The upper floors of the existing building were converted into the EasyHotel, with the reception on the first floor and a restaurant operated by a third party on the ground floor. Premier Inn and Restaurants raise £10m for Great Ormond Street

Patients from Great Ormond Street Hospital joined 2016 Great British Bake-Off winner Candice Brown and team members at Premier Inn St Pancras for a Halloween party to mark the £10m raised by the company. Glh Hotels wins bronze at the London Venue Awards

A Glh Hotels property has received recognition at The London Venue Awards 2017. The Amba Hotel Charing Cross was presented with Bronze for “Best London Event Venue – Under 500 Attendees”. The hotel was competing against a shortlist of eight other sites for the spot. Additional hotels from the Glh portfolio were shortlisted at the event including The Royal Horseguards Hotel for “Best Historic Venue or Livery Hall” and “Best Unusual or Unique Venue”, as well as The Tower Hotel for “Best London Event Venue – 500 to 1,000 attendees”. Macdonald Hotels reports profit growth as it aims for luxury status

Independent hotel group, Macdonald Hotels, has announced that it has achieved a profit of £4m in the last financial year and has reduced net core debt to a 14-year low. The group, which has 53 hotels and resorts in the UK, Ireland, Spain and Portugal, published its annual results for the year to 30 March 2017. The results showed that the group’s like-for-like turnover was up by 5% to £7.8m and its operating profit was up 8% to £3.2m.
