Boutique hotel set for ‘historical’ £250k makeover

The Bridge Street Townhouse in Chester is set to undergo a £250,000 transformation with an ‘artistic nod’ to the city’s Roman past, with its new branding. Fragrance Group buys Blackpool’s Lyndene Hotel

The Fragrance Group has acquired the Lyndene Hotel in Blackpool from a guide price of £6.5m. The sale was overseen by international real estate advisor Savills, on behalf of a private vendor. Under its new ownership, the property will be managed by Bespoke Hotels. The four-storey hotel features 141 bedrooms plus three bars and two separate lounges and function rooms. Premier Inn walks away from Newport hotel development

Premier Inn has pulled out of plans to develop a 60-room hotel in Newport city centre. The site, which was a former Yates bar, was granted planning permission in 2012 but has seen multiple delays since. It was originally set to open in 2015, pushed back to 2016, then again to April this year. Then, earlier this year, developers met with Premier Inn representatives to discuss recent concerns raised about the noise levels of nearby club, Warehouse 54. Room 2 has announced the development of a new apart-hotel in Southampton, with a focus on design, comfort and value.
