Independent hotel group, Macdonald Hotels, has announced that it has achieved a profit of £4m in the last financial year and has reduced net core debt to a 14-year low. The group, which has 53 hotels and resorts in the UK, Ireland, Spain and Portugal, published its annual results for the year to 30 March 2017. The results showed that the group’s like-for-like turnover was up by 5% to £7.8m and its operating profit was up 8% to £3.2m.
